Week 20
At the beginning of the year, I decided to use blogger to make my blog but throughout my coursework I identified a few issues with the site that made it difficult to use.
Although I am pleased with the current general layout and aesthetic of my blog, it certainly took a lot of tries to find and customise a theme that suited my taste and my final product. Alongside this, themes couldn't be saved so if I did end up changing it although I wasn't completely satisfied with it, I wasn't able to revert it to the previous theme. I also had to ensure that the images that I used for the theme was a certain size (for both file size and image size) which further made the experience more tedious.
I also found it quite difficult to set up the layout for the side bar as it was particularly time consuming, as I constantly had to switch tabs and copy and paste element of my blog, when compared to the ease of being able to do this on a site such as Wix.
A lot of the time, the site also wouldn't allow me to upload screenshots to my posts so to upload progress images I had to take the screenshot and then upload them to my laptop before being able to upload them to the blog post. This made the process unnecessarily long which I believe was really inconvenient.
In conclusion, I believe that this year, using blogger was a learning experience but for future blogs I definitely will use a different site such as Wix.
