Week 22

Image
This week, after receiving feedback from my teachers, I decided to explore magazine spreads as a concept for my CCR2 and so I worked on illustrator. I initially started making a double page spread but to be able to fit all the text I had to make the text really small and so I added an additional page to ensure that the text isn’t too small and that all relevant information was included. I also wanted to refine my blog by changing the name of the blog to include 'AS Foundation Portfolio' and my candidate number. I also changed the layout, colour scheme and the theme of my blog to ensure that it better suited my final product and overall had a better aesthetic.

Experiences with blogger- At the beginning of the year, I decided to use blogger to make my blog but throughout my coursework I identified a few issues with the site that made it difficult to use.  Although I am pleased with the current general layout and aesthetic of my blog, it certainly took a lot of tries to find and customise a theme that suited my taste and my final product. Alongside this, themes couldn't be saved so if I did end up changing it although I wasn't completely satisfied with it, I wasn't able to revert it to the previous theme. I also had to ensure that the images that I used for the theme was a certain size (for both file size and image size) which further made the experience more tedious.  I also found it quite difficult to set up the layout for the side bar as it was particularly time consuming, as I constantly had to switch tabs and copy and paste element of my blog, when compared to the ease of being able to do this on a site such as Wix. A lot of t...

CCR2 Final

Image
After self reflection and teacher feedback, I decided to increase the medias I used within my CCRs by making my CCR2 into a double page spread. Answering the question: How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Personal evaluation of first draft

I was really happy with the quality of the shots that was produced with the variety of the camera shots and framing although they are very shaky and disruptive. The song that I used also made me focus on the timing which made me cut some shots too short so that they would suit the music which was a bit of an issue. I also don't like the institutional titles as its quite small and also doesn't seem realistic. Next steps moving forwards: To improve my final edit I would like to use premier pro to make a new, more sophisticated institutional title, stabilise the shots and experiment with the editing and transitions. I'd also like to look into different soundtracks to use that would better suit the opening sequence. The desert shots did work really well but I would also like to experiment with the different shots I took in the desert.
